VioFo A229 Pro dashcam
The Viofo brand of dashcams has been one of my favourites over the past few years. I’ve had no issues with their products and the quality of the video was always good for the price paid.
The Viofo A229 Pro is substantially more expensive than their past models but you can see the jump in video quality and product craftsmanship.
Everything required for setup is included. A front 4K (3840×2160) dashcam and a rear dashcam capable of 2.5K (2560×1440) provide a clear image of license plates and detailed surroundings.
Included is a installation tool, USB-C to USB-A cables, a 2 port power adaptor for your cigarette lighter and the glass static adhesive.
Total installation time took me less than 20 minutes. Viofo was also kind enough to send me a 512GB microSD card which worked flawlessly.

The main issue I had with it wasn’t even related to the Viofo dashcam but to the cigarette lighter in my 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 which is providing power to the plug 24/7 . That means that I couldn’t shut off the dashcam and sometimes it would go into sleep mode.
I replaced my A119 Mini 2 with the A229 Pro and don’t regret it at all BUT the A119 is also a great choice for a single lens camera.
